Ulster Supported Employment Ltd (USEL) is Northern Ireland’s leading provider of employment opportunities for people with disabilities and health conditions. Founded with a clear social mission, USEL exists to break down barriers to work, empower individuals through meaningful employment, and champion ability across every area of society.
At the heart of USEL is a belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive in the workplace and they put this into action through a range of specialist employment programmes. These include Empower, which offers tailored one-to-one employment support; Workable NI, which helps individuals already in work receive the adjustments and guidance they need to stay and progress in their roles; and Skills for Life and Work, a training initiative for young people with additional needs preparing to take their first steps into employment.
Alongside these programmes, USEL also operates a range of award-winning social enterprises including cafés, manufacturing, recycling, and secure shredding which provide supportive work environments and real-life training for those furthest from the job market. Everything we do is driven by a commitment to inclusion, impact, and opportunity. Through collaboration with employers, partners and local communities, they are helping build a more inclusive Northern Ireland where everyone’s potential is valued.
