Stage Beyond Theatre Company

Stage Beyond is an exciting and progressive Theatre Company set up to promote the interests of young adults with learning disabilities in the creative community.

Established in 2002 this not for profit organisation pioneered in Northern Ireland the development of training specificially tailored for individuals within this group. Previously the talented individuals had limited outlets for their abilities and were severely under represented in the established areas of the arts.

The primary aim of all Stage Beyond's initiatives is to redress this trend and foster greater inclusion. The ultimate aim is that young people with learning disabilities are provided the maximum opportunity to exploit their talents within the artistic community. Through this work it is also possible to ensure that the efforts of these individuals are properly showcased and that a stronger "voice" is provided for the learning disabled community as a whole.

All of Stage Beyond initiatives are geared to ensuring that its members acquire the necessary skills and training to participate fully and effectively in an arts context. As a result it members now have greater confidence to thrive in a cultural environment and participate proactively in activities that previously may not have been available to them.
