Additional Information

Employment & Learning Many people with disabilities face challenges in accessing and participating in employment and training. To help tackle these barriers Cedar offers a range of services across Northern Ireland to help individuals gain qualifications and develop the skills required to find a job or to get involved in the community. Working together with individuals, their families, and other professionals, we build links with training providers, colleges and support services. We work closely with employers to encourage and support them to provide job placements and employment opportunities. Kids and Teens Fun and Play If you’re 4 -11 years old and want to have lots of fun, either at home or out and about with friends, you should visit www.cedar-foundation.org Youth Work Cedar's Youth Matters staff organise fun-packed days and evenings for teens throughout Northern Ireland, including Laser Quest, ice-skating and trips to pantomimes and the cinema. And that's not all. You'll also find us DJ-ing, cooking, making films, travelling abroad on exchange programmes and doing adventure sports. We also run Personal Development Programmes to help you learn new skills while having fun. You can also join our Youth Action Team and have your voice heard about issues affecting you and your friends, click here to find out more. Parents / Carers YOU GET A BREAK. THEY HAVE FUN. Being a parent or carer of a disabled child can be both enjoyable and challenging. Cedar has developed services to respond to you and your child’s needs. For more information contact us at youthmatters@cedar-foundation.org At Cedar we provide a range of Living Options. Accommodation that is suitably and sensitively designed to meet the individual needs of people who have brain injury, physical disability and sensory impairment, as well as for people who have learning disabilities. Services include Supported Living in independent apartments or bungalows, registered residential homes providing 24 hour care and housing support services. Brain Injury Services At Cedar we are introduced to people who have survived Brain Injury due to a range of sudden and unexpected events, such as road accident, assault or stroke. Just as everyone will have had different life experiences before injury, the impact of Brain Injury on their lives is also unique. For some people they have to deal with significant and ongoing difficulties with their memory, concentration, emotions or behaviour as well as physical problems. These individuals may find that due to their injury they face challenges and barriers when they try to re-enter the workplace. The Cedar Brain Injury Services aim to enable people surviving Brain Injury to achieve their personal goals for returning to work, gaining qualifications and having an active life.
