Day Care and Day Opportunities services are provided through a range of regulated and non-regulated Trust and Independent/Voluntary sector services designed to promote choice and independence for adults with learning disabilities. Traditional type day care to meet the needs of those service users with complex health care needs and/or challenging behaviours or those who are older, is largely delivered creatively through our day centres and satellite units. Within day opportunities a wider range of provision is being encouraged to meet the assessed needs and enhance the potential of younger people transitioning from children’s services. This also includes those currently in day care settings. Day opportunities offer creative work based placements e.g. such as social farming and /or for those whose needs can be best met through accessing a mixed package of care provided within community placements.
The Willow Group is a regulated satellite facility offering 26 places of day care services to older adults with learning disabilities.
The focus of the Willow Group is to promote independence through programmes of integration and interaction within the local community. Individuals who attend this centre take part in a full and varied programme of activities incorporating leisure, education and crafts.
