Additional Information

MindWise is a leading membership-based mental health charity in Northern Ireland. For over 50 years, we have been working with and for people of all ages directly affected by mental health issues, as well as families, carers, employers, and teachers.

MindWise empowers those who use our advocacy services to take the lead in securing the rights and services to which they are entitled. We offer support to ensure that views are heard, representation, help to resolve issues, and protection for those who are particularly vulnerable or unable to make informed decisions. Advocacy can be provided long-term or for short-term crisis needs.

Northern Ireland Appropriate Adult Service (NIAAS) provides support for all juveniles who are mentally vulnerable and/or disordered while detained in custody.

MindWise also provides mental health housing support across supported living schemes in Northern Ireland. We offer temporary accommodation in our hostel in East Belfast for individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health issues. Our South Down Tenancy Support service works with clients in their own tenancies in the community to empower them and maintain their tenancy long-term.

MindWise runs a range of workshops and programmes for children and young people, including our Beyond Bricks Lego therapy play for kids and our Bloom programme for young people.
