Praxis Care - Lurgan Road Day Service

Who are we?

Lurgan Road Day Services is a daytime activity centre which has been providing support and respite to families for over 20 years to adults with learning disabilities. We can adapt our services to facilitate to individuals of all abilities and capabilities. Every individual will have their own bespoke Care Plan and Timetable suited to their needs and interests.

What do we have to offer?

Our main attraction is our Social Enterprise Bakery known as “Blissful Bites Bakery”. Here each individual involved will learn how to bake a range of produce from start to finish. We package and label everything in house and personally deliver everything in our delivery vehicle to the local shops we provide to. You will develop skills such as inanimate load handling, food safety, customer care and engaging with members of the community.

Our Allotment sites at Cusher Meadow Allotments is another of our main attractions. Here you can develop your gardening and woodwork skills, while watching your produce grow from seed to your plate. All eatable produce will be taken back to our main site and will be used for cooking.

Some recent things we have made are bird boxes and flower beds, which are filled with lovely flowers to be sold at our fairs and coffee mornings. Working outside in this beautiful, quiet space has had such a positive impact on the mental wellbeing of the people we support here.

You are in safe and caring hands! All of our staff here at Lurgan Road undergo thorough training so that they are able to provide the best possible care and support. All of our staff are trained in the administration of Medication and have at least Level 2 Makaton training.
