Liberty Consortium - The Playtrail (Derry)

Outdoor Play and Educational facility used by families and support services for a range of activities including family fun days, support meetings, play sessions, school groups etc. Day opportunities at the Playtrail provide meaningful provision for people with disabilities to enhance their personal development, life skills and independence. Funded under the Self Directed Support Model, by the Western Health and Social Care trust, we develop citizenship skills and build on the person’s confidence and self-esteem whilst allowing them to foster positive friendships within a safe environment. Currently delivered across three days, activities are wide and varied and are person led. Citizenship To provide a meaningful and interactive daily provision for young people with disabilities to enhance their personal development, life skills and independence. We will develop citizenship skills and build on the young people’s confidence and self-esteem whilst allowing them to foster positive friendships within a safe environment. Delivery Day Opportunities will be delivered across two days (Monday & Tuesday) initially and will be based at the Playtrail site. Each day will run for 5 hours, it will be young person led and participants will take part in a variety of meaningful programmes, activities and outings. BUD Club aims to provide a generic and targeted youth provision for young people with disabilities aged 11-25 years old. BUD Club is a full-time youth-led, educational and developmental youth provision based in Derry City & Strabane District Council Area. BUD Club works with young people with disabilities aged 11-25 years old, providing young people with disabilities a safe, fun and inclusive environment to engage and foster positive relationships.
