Sensory Kids (Broughshane)

We plan to sustain and develop our organisation so it can meet the new challenges of the post-covid world and further develop the range of services we can provide for children and young people.

We provide children and young people with a safe and secure environment that will reduce their anxieties and promote their development, as well as help parents to understand and support their children’s needs. We offer volunteering opportunities and training, promoting skills development and potential routes to employment with part time admin, professional therapies and technical support.

All-Inclusive Service

We network with councils, agencies, organisations and groups working with children with disabilities in house or by providing teaching and sensory sessions externally.

We are an inclusive service that aims to cater for children and young people of all ages and abillities.

Our Objectives

To use all our senses through play, make the best possible use of time, space, and all sensory equipment available. It is important that the environment presents the child/adult with an attractive, challenging, stimulating environment for all.

To treat every child/adult as an individual and meet additional needs regardless of gender, race, nationality and culture without discriminating in a safe, secure, welcoming and happy environment. Providing quality sensory experiences for all.

To recognise the value of parents input and encourage them to share in their child/adult learning. To treat every child/adults an individual recognising additional needs. To support equal opportunities. To bring together families, carers, schools and organisations involved in the disability community.

Sensory Room

Our sensory room helps those who have learning difficulties, developmental disabilities or sensory impairments learn to interact with the world around them in a safe environment that builds their confidence and their ability. Your young person will enjoy a safe space where they can explore at their own pace, in a sensory area where the therapist will see what calms them, rouses them and what they do or don’t like.
