Additional Information

Cancer Lifeline supports people affected by cancer in North Belfast. This means we can support the person who is diagnosed as well as their family members or carers. We recognise that coping with a cancer diagnosis is extremely difficult. At our “home from home” centre in Alliance Avenue, we provide a caring welcome in a comfortable setting where people can come and talk through what is happening to them.

We will do our best to support you through this difficult time in your life. We offer a range of one to one and group support programmes. Examples include counselling, complementary therapies, welfare benefits advice, male and female support groups, bereavement support, stress management, relaxation workshops, wellbeing mornings etc. See our newssheet and website for the full range of support programmes which we hope you can participate in. There are NO COSTS to you for these services.

Helping you to cope better emotionally, mentally and physically with you or your loved one’s illness is at the core of our support services. Cancer Lifeline is unique because it is managed by local people who are living with cancer themselves. When you come for support, you will have the opportunity to meet and talk to others who have been through a similar experience, if you wish to do so.

If there is anything that you would like to find out more about, or need to query, just lift the phone and we will do our best to help you or put you in touch with the right people. We also welcome any suggestions or ideas you may have for future programmes of support. A cancer diagnosis can bring may changes and challenges to your life. We encourage you to take that first and often difficult step to ask for help.
