SkillSET is a new innovative programme of specialist employment preparation and training, for people with a disability / health condition who are economically inactive. Cedar is delivering the service across NI as part of a partnership of seven disability organisations.
SkillSET Cedar aims to enhance the life chances of economically inactive disabled people by delivering specialised pre-employment training, on the job mentoring and the creation of sustainable employment opportunities via:
Accredited and non-accredited training (vocational, employability, personal development
Basic skills and numeracy development
Academy based training models
Employment preparation including work experience , CV preparation, interview prep and 1:1 peer mentoring
Employer engagement and the establishment of employer led academies and the delivery of disability awareness training
Supporting disabled people leaving Higher/Further Education (particularly those with ASD) to secure employment.
