Additional Information
The SET Recovery College offers free educational courses about mental health and recovery which are designed to increase your knowledge and skills and promote self-management. Courses are available to anyone with an interest in mental health and wellbeing including: service users; family members and staff.
Each course is co-produced and co-facilitated by Recovery College Tutors. At least one tutor will have lived experience of mental health recovery and the other will have learned experience of the subject area. Both tutors have a special interest in mental health recovery.
The Recovery College promotes three themes: hope, opportunity and control.
Vision
The Recovery College Vision is to be an educational centre of excellence that nurtures recovery. The College aims to communicate that mental health recovery can be a reality for all. We strive to develop a College that is free from stigma, is strengths-based and always seeks to realise the person, not the illness.
The Recovery College provides a range of educational courses/workshops for people who use or have used services, their supporters (family, friends and carers), staff and members’ of the community and voluntary sector.
The work of the Recovery College builds upon the national drive to create a society in which people with mental health conditions have access to the same opportunities in life as everyone else and are able to play an active and participatory role in their local communities.
