Compass Advocacy Network (CAN) is a user-led charity of people with a learning disability which aims to enhance lives and create change for individuals through a range of projects, services and social enterprises. CAN Pathways which is one of CAN’s projects and funded by the Big Lottery, is a young people’s and family project in the council areas of Causeway Coast & Glens and Mid & East Antrim. The project supports young people aged 12 – 25 who have a learning disability or autism and their families during a pivotal time in the young person’s life – transition from school. The project which works closely with schools, day opportunities, colleges and community organisations helps young people and their families to navigate the transitions process (sign-posting, advice and information) and make informed decisions about their future.
