This purpose built centre is situated on the outskirts of the town. The facility
includes four communal therapeutic activity rooms, service users changing
facility, shower room, toilets,
kitchen/dining room, laundry room, quiet room, offices and storage rooms.
Two day care workers are responsible for four groups namely, Diamond,
Emerald, Ruby andAmber Group.
The four groups have each a separate room which they use to carry out their core activities.
Groupings are based on service users specific needs as a number of service user have a variety of complex needs
The SHSCT has 15 directly managed Day Care Centres for adults with physical and/or learning and/or sensory disabilities within the Armagh/Dungannon, Craigavon/Banbridge and Newry and Mourne localities.
Day Care is provided to service users who have been assessed as having complex care and/or behavioural needs. Day Care services are regulated by the Regulation Quality and Improvement Authority (RQIA) who monitor the quality of service provision through announced and unannounced inspections on a regular basis.
