Listening Books is a national charity that provides a postal and online audiobook lending service to children and adults who find that an illness, disability, mental health condition or learning difficulty such as dyslexia impacts on their ability to read or hold books in the usual way. The collection has a huge range of wonderful fiction and non-fiction titles, including educational titles and study guides (from Key Stage 2 to A Level). The audiobooks are available across three easily accessible formats: MP3 CDs sent through the post (all postage is included in the membership), to download to a phone or tablet to listen on-the-go, and online streaming through a Windows PC, Mac or compatible device. Membership fees range from £20 - £45 per year and you can apply for a membership through the charity’s website or call the friendly membership team for more information. Free memberships are available for anyone who would find it difficult to pay the membership fees. Members also get free access to a range of audio newspapers and magazines through a partnership with PressReader.
