Dietitians are Allied Health Professionals registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. They assess, diagnosis and treat dietary and nutritional problems at an individual and wider public-health level. They work with children and adults in a variety of settings. Dietitians use the most up-to-date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease which they translate into practical advice to help people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.

Dietitians work with a number of partner organisations to deliver training on nutrition skills programmes and provide a source of nutrition expertise to community, voluntary and statutory organisations throughout the South Eastern Trust area. Dietitians provide advice to caterers to ensure good nutrition within Health and Social Care settings.
