Additional Information
Astoria Kindergarten caters for children aged 2 years 9 months to 5 years old. We aim to promote excellent partnerships with parents and a smooth transition from home to playgroup.
We will provide each individual child with the greatest opportunities in a caring and stimulating environment so that they may learn and develop their own individual personalities and realise their full potential.
The Kindergarten is led by Sinead Mooney (BA Hons Early Childhood Studies & Level 3 Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), Deputy Leader Cathy McClune Level 5 Childcare Learning and Development (currently studying BA Hons Early Childhood Studies) all other staff members are qualified to Level 3 Childcare Learning and development or are working towards this qualification.
The group follows the research based learning approach for young children ‘Eager and Able to Learn’ whilst also following the NI pre-school curricular guidance for children in their penultimate pre-school year. The children have wonderful opportunities to engage in forest school activities, outdoor play, gymnastics and music sessions.
