Additional Information

We provide free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and campaign on big issues affecting people's lives. Our goal is to help everyone find a way forward, whatever problem they face. Community Advice Newry Mourne and Down was formerly known as Citizens Advice Newry, Mourne and Down. On 1st January 2019 Citizens Advice withdrew from Northern Ireland and local bureau rebranded and became members of Advice NI, a local independent advice network. Community Advice is a registered charity that provides free advice and support to any member of the public on problems they face in their everyday lives. We also undertake research and campaigning work in order to improve the policies and practices that affect them. We offer help in relation to a wide range of social welfare areas. We can help you enforce employment rights, manage your money, improve your housing, and access benefit entitlements. We also promote consumer rights, such as protecting people from scams and rogue traders. We help people find a way forward. We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Community Advice we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, free independent advice. That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem. When we say we’re for everyone, we mean it. People rely on us because we’re independent and totally impartial. What we do Community Advice Newry, Mourne and Down is an independent charity that provides free, confidential information and advice to assist people with benefit, consumer, money, employment and other problems. The twin aims of the Community Advice service are to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and secondly to improve the policies and principals that affect peoples lives. Staff and volunteers provide practical advice, negotiate on behalf of clients and even represent them formally, such as at tribunal hearings.
