The Getting Ready for Baby Programme (GRFB) supports parents to give their baby the best start in life and is part of the Northern Ireland Government Early Intervention Transformation Programme. In the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust a team of four midwives deliver antenatal care alongside group based antenatal education. Care and support for first time mothers and their babies is provided by the midwives throughout pregnancy and in preparation for labour and birth, enabling a strong foundation for secure attachment and positive mental health.
