Ascert is a Northern Ireland charity providing services that have been reducing alcohol and drug related harm in our communities for 21 years. We are committed to ensuring individuals families, workforces and communities are supported in the most effective wat to deal with the challenges they face.

DAISY The Drug and Alcohol Intervention Service for Youth (DASIY) provides support for young people and young adults experiencing problems from their alcohol or substance use. DAISY is for young people aged 11-25 years old and also to their parents or family members.

STEPS TO COPE is an evidence based support aimed at young people aged 11-18 who are experiencing or who have lived with another family members alcohol or substance misuse or mental health difficulties in their family.

Targeted Life Skills offers an age appropriate life skills and harm reduction programme for groups of young people aged 11-2 that are at risk of alcohol or drug use. The services engages young people in a structured programme tailored to the needs of the group and delivered over a number of sessions. The session will explore life skills that strengthens a young persons skills in managing choices, communication, dealing with emotions or decisions making.

Steps to Change is a community based intervention service for adults and family members affected by alcohol or drug misuse. It is available to anyone over 18 and provides confidential service which helps adults reduce harm caused by alcohol or drugs. It offers a structured programmes based on each persons needs. Support can include up to 12 sessions of one to one therapeutic counselling and relapse prevention service is available for those worried about drinking again.

It can also help family members affected by another persons alcohol or drug muse even if the person using alcohol or drugs does not want help. They can receive a number of support session to help them better cope and best support a loved one who is misusing alcohol or drugs.

Engage provide family therapy programme available to professionals working with families experiencing problems. We can support strengthen relationships and functioning within the family. In addition to direct therapy sessions, we provide further unscheduled support and partnership working to support the family. By doing this, families understand themselves and others in their family better in their own context and are more capable to make sustainable positive changes that can avert crisis.

Connections is the public face of the Drug and Alcohol Coordination Team (DACTs) They are a multiagency bodies that made up from organisations from the statutory and voluntary sector and direct alcohol and other drug strategies in each health trust area. Ascert manages the services in the South Eastern and Western areas and act as a link between communities and service providers, as well as having a role in awareness raising and tracking emerging trends. They provide a range of awareness sessions for parents, community groups, sports teams and other organisations

Training we are a leading training provider with thousands of people taking part in our programme each year. There are a range of training and development opportunities we offer individuals and organisations. Example training courses available are substance misuse awareness, working with young people and substance misuse, parental substance misuse, understanding Illicit drugs.
