Wah Hep is the community development association which represents, and provides services for, the Chinese community in County Armagh. Wah Hep itself means “Chinese self-help” which reflects the fundamental philosophy of the group. Wah Hep was formally established as an independent organisation in 1999.
Wah Hep provides the following services:
- Drop in centre which provides vital information to the Chinese and wider community
- Anti-racial and equality training
- Advocacy Service
- A meeting place for the statutory agencies and other Ethnic communities
- Adult English classes
- After School club & Chinese Language School
- Chinese 50+ ageing well group * Mother & Toddler Group (see details in childcare section)
- A Chinese library facility
- Host of traditional cultural festivals
