The North Belfast Community Family Support Programme (CFSP) is delivered by Ashton Community Trust.
The Community Family Support Programmes takes a holistic approach to improving outcomes for children, young people and their family members through the development of a cohesive, joined up ‘family’ support plan across a number of core strands of work namely family support, children and youth support, health/well being and education and learner support. All interventions and approaches have been designed to support the development of family and individual resilience. As a locally based family service CFSP reaches families at a grass roots level. Ashton Community Trust have high levels of intelligence relating to local area; understanding and knowledge of the issues local families face and a multi-dimensional, practical support working with all members of the family as part of one cohesive family plan.
The Community Family Support Programme is part of a Consortium available across Belfast and is designed to empower people to make positive decisions and aims to omprove the quality of their lives. The programme works with those who are not currently in Education, training or employment and who may also have family support needs.
Programmes of work are directly matched to the expressed needs of the family and may include developing skills to find work, creating CV, preparation for interviews, parenting advice, advocacy, reducing isolation, promoting health and well -being and stress management.
