Adoption
The Domestic Adoption Team, working with other Family & Child Care staff, is responsible for counselling birth parents about adoption and finding adoptive parents for children who, for whatever reason, cannot live with their birth families.
The service includes:
counselling
preparation and training
assessment of prospective adopters
preparation and placement of children for adoption
maintaining links with birth relatives
training and support for adoptive families
The Post Adoption Team provides information and support to adopted adults and their birth relatives who are living in Belfast
