ROC Tele-Mentors is a new online mentoring support scheme for families living in the Greater Ballysillan area of North Belfast and in Larne.
The project aims to support families who have found the ongoing Covid-19 crisis challenging maybe employment uncertainty, homeschooling, feeling isolated and lonely.
ROC Tele-mentors offers ten weeks mentoring support with a trained volunteer mentor to the principal care giver of a family i.e. mum or dad.
These 40min – 1hr sessions will take place via video call or by phone.
The mentor will be a listening ear, a guide, an advocate. They are a friend with a purpose. The mentoring sessions aim to improve resilience and self-esteem, encourage well-being and improved mental health, help achieve a simple goal and most importantly help families thrive.
Referral from Self, School, Upper North Belfast and Larne Family Support Hubs, local churches and community groups.
