Therapeutic, Educational Support Services in Adoption (TESSA) provides support for adoptive families living in Northern Ireland. This support can range from counselling, group support programmes, family events to creative therapies.
TESSA believes that by supporting the whole family, including school connections, that adoptive families will have the best chance to thrive. TESSA is currently funded through it's parent organisation Family Routes however, it is likely that future funding will come from a range of sources.
We at TESSA appreciate that reaching out for support as an adoptive parent can be particularly challenging. We provide a non-judgemental, confidential and supportive service for parents when they need us most.
TESSA offers a range of parenting courses, counselling and therapies for children who are often dealing with trauma caused by stressful experiences. “There are no quick fixes for the challenges that adoption can present but we will offer you the best service we can.”
