The Hype Team offers a FREE and CONFIDENTIAL service within the Belfast Trust to provide young people with information to make informed choices about their sexual and reproductive health.
The Team works in partnership with other agencies to offer:
Group work HYPE provides tailored personal development programmes ranging from 6 to 8 sessions to meet the specific needs of service users. Led by Public Health Resource Assistants, these group sessions address young people's sexual health and well-being. Referrals for group work programmes are open to any organisation working with youth, including but not limited to schools, colleges, youth clubs, residential units or hostels, and programmes for children leaving care, learning disability or mental health. The team can be contacted by phone or email to discuss the suitability of the service for a group. An information pack containing a request/referral form and parental consent forms will be sent out, followed by an Agency Planning meeting to develop and confirm a co-working agreement and program content. A Program proposal pack will then be sent to the relevant agency before the program delivery.
Individual Work HYPE also offers one-to-one education sessions specific to each individual's needs. Led by either a Nurse or a Public Health Resource Assistant, these sessions can last for 4 to 6 sessions but may vary depending on the person's requirements. Please note that only healthcare or social work professionals within the Belfast Trust can make referrals for individual work.
