Sands Northern Ireland is part of Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. Sands operates throughout the UK, supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby, working to improve the care bereaved parents receive, and promoting research and working closely with many different organisations to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. Sands Northern Ireland is a volunteer-led Group that works to support the charity’s vision aims in our area. As bereaved parents ourselves, we understand the pain and grief of when a baby dies. The support we offer can be accessed via telephone and email, and through support meetings and events with other bereaved families. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to listen and offer our support. Contact us for more details. Our local support lines are staffed by volunteers - if you can't get through and need support now, please contact Sands Support below. Our service can be accessed by self referral by phone, email or in person at the Regional Office or simply by turning up at one of the support groups. If there is not a support group in your area, Sands Befrienders work throughout N. Ireland to provide support to parents. We also offer e-mail support.
