Autism NI is Northern Ireland's leading autism charity, dedicated to supporting autistic individuals and their families while campaigning to raise acceptance of autism in society. The family support team assists individuals, parents and carers, offering help before and after an autism diagnosis.
Our Helpline operates Monday–Friday (9am–5pm) at 028 9040 1729 (Option 1), providing advice, information, and practical supports.
As Northern Ireland's longest-serving autism training provider, Autism NI offers free support courses for parents, carers, family members. We train over 2,780 delegates annually, including professionals. Providing evidence-based, practical training aimed at effectively supporting autistic people and their families.
Autism NI also works to improve understanding and advocate for specialised services through its ongoing lobbying efforts. Key initiatives include World Autism Acceptance Month and World Autism Day (April 2). Through collaboration with the All Party Group on Autism (APGA), Parents Autism Lobby (PAL), and the Celtic Nations Autism Partnership (CNAP), Autism NI’s efforts contributed to the passage of the Autism Act (NI) in 2011 and the Autism (Amendment) Act (NI) 2022.
