NIHE Oil Buying Network

Joining an oil buying club could save you money when purchasing oil. As a NI Oil Buying Network (OBN) member, you can order your oil each week (or whenever you need a refill) at a negotiated discount.

Average savings are currently £10 – £30 on 200 litres of oil for OBN members.

Do you want to save money on your next oil fill? NIHE Oil Buying Club carry out a daily Oil Price Index for up to the minute price per litre and this helps them in negotiations.

How does it work? Anyone can sign up – you do NOT need to be a NIHE tenant. The oil buying club covers ALL postcodes in the District.

Once you join up, you send your ‘tentative’ order e.g. 200ls, 300ls, 400ls, by the deadline. You will then be contacted for your firm order by email or two-way texting service.

Full details are available at: https://www.nihe.gov.uk/community/ni-energy-advice/oil-buying-network

To make even better savings – NIHE Oil Buying Club suggests that you buy as little as 200 litres, and to help keep better track of heating oil prices. You can then order at a time that suits you, helping to avoid fuel theft. You’ll save more money by splitting up large orders over a number of weeks.
