Mencap Northern Ireland aims to support more people to live independently in the community.
At Mencap, we work in partnership with the Health Trusts in Northern Ireland, with RQIA, Supporting People, Golden Lane Housing, and our local Housing Associations.
We also work closely with Education and Training providers, community groups and other voluntary sector agencies.
Our range of specialised services are available across Northern Ireland.
Our services are designed to meet the specific needs of individual service users. This could be one-to-one support for a few hours in their own home, up to 24 hour support in specially adapted accommodation.
We pride ourselves on having a person-centred approach to the support we give, which means putting the person's needs first.
We encourage the people we work with to have input and be involved in every aspect of their support. We value their input and opinion.
We promote their right to have a fulfilled life within a safe and secure environment, by promoting independence and having personalised support packages for each person.
We encourage personal development and support the people we work with to access services and activities within their local communities.
