Mariner's Afterschool Care (Belfast)

The Mariner's Afterschool Care is an AFFORABLE afterschool's provision for Lower North Belfast, which is based in Castle Community Trust.

The Manager has been working in the community with children and young people for 16 years and has her Level 5 Diploma in Childcare Management. We also have a Deputy Manager that has also completed her Level 5, Supervisor and Afterschool Assistant who is currently completing her Level 3 in Childcare and we have volunteers that are trained, vetted and registered with BHSCT.

We provide afterschool care including pick up’s from local schools 1.45pm to 5.30pm that is £20.00 per day. We have a daily routine which consist of age appropriate activities, arts and crafts and physical activities etc. All activities and daily routines are tailored around the children’s needs and also to develop their play needs, independence and self-esteem etc.

We are also registered for seasonal Care therefore, we open out of school term (summer, Halloween, Easter and Mid Term etc.) from 8.30am to 5.30pm which is also £20.00 per day. Seasonal care also has a daily routine which is full of activities and the summer is full of fun trips, outdoor play and learning etc.

As we are a community run affordable childcare we don’t charge when are closed and we accommodate early school closures (teacher training days and school closing early etc.) and settling in periods for P1 children at NO COST.

We pride ourselves on work with children with additional needs. We have a proven track record and many years of experience providing high care, preparing and maintaining care plans and extra support so we can always aim to provide an inclusive service to children with additional needs and all the children in the setting.
