I am a qualified accredited child and adolescent psychotherapist who works as a bought in service with children and young people, who are experiencing difficulties. They may be struggling with traumas, looking to build confidence and to reinforce negative to positive self esteem, also coping mechanisms for their reality.
Each young person usually has huge benefits from 6-8 sessions. I use creative therapies so young people can show me instead of telling me.
Young people externalize their behaviors - adults internalize and I am trained to be bi lingual in psychotherapy. As we all know children going through upset traumas, separation anxiety, bullying, attachment issues and abuse get stuck emotionally and display erratic behaviors. These are worked through in sessions in a safe honest and trusting manner working with 4-18 year olds in Derry/Londonderry, Waterside, Donegal, Belfast.
During the play therapy process, children create play that resembles experiences that they are struggling with, internally.
