Additional Information

Samaritans is a confidential emotional support service available 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair including those which may lead to suicide. Talk to us any time you like, in your own way, and off the record – about whatever’s getting to you. You don’t have to be suicidal. If you have any concerns about our service before you try it, we want to reassure you about them.. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, just get in touch and ask us about it. Please don’t suffer alone. We're here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you need a response immediately, it's best to call us on the phone : 116123 Samaritans now have a freephone number 116123. This number is free to call from landlines and all mobiles in the UK (and RoI). We no longer have a local access number. Although all our services to callers continue to be delivered by volunteers working in local branches we now direct each call to the first available volunteer regardless of where they are located. By doing this we ensure that callers get help as quickly as possible. For the few people using unusual telephone systems who cannot access the Freecall number we have a local rate number 0330 094 5717 but in the first instance Freecall is better for obvious reasons and will not appear on itemised billing. Our email support continues to be available as normal via jo@samaritans.org and although face to face services are unavailable at the moment due to the COVID19 situation they are normally available at times advertised on individual pages as advertised on Samaritans website (see link above).
