Headway - Ennisrone (Enniskillen and Tyrone)

Headway Ennisrone (Enniskillen and Tyrone = Ennisrone) Headway Ennisrone is a Branch of Headway UK that is run by volunteers who all have either professional or personal experience of the effects of living with acquired brain injury. Brain Injury is a condition which changes the lives, not only of those who suffer the injury, but also, their families. The brain is a very complex organ and different parts of it control different elements of the way we operate, for example, speech, memory and sight. The symptoms of brain injury are therefore determined by which parts of the brain have been damaged. Families take most of the strain. The burden of care can place the family unit under severe pressure. Headway promotes wider understanding of all aspects of brain injury and provides information, support and social activities for people with brain injury, their families and carers. Headway also campaigns at National and local level for improved resources and facilities for brain injury survivors. How can Headway Ennisrone help you and your family? Family Support Meetings: Bi-monthly, first Monday of the month, offering emotional, practical support and understanding; providing you with opportunities to meet with other people who have had similar experiences. Social Activities: We organise a number of social activities throughout the year including barbeques, social evenings and seasonal events. Information & Training: We provide free access for all our members to Headway UK training on a variety of subjects such as Understanding Brain Injury and Coping with Challenging Behaviour. We also engage speakers throughout the year to talk on subjects such as Benefits Advice and other Carers' Issues. How do I become a member? Headway Ennisrone welcomes all new members: Brain Injury Survivors, their families, carers and volunteers. Headway Ennisrone is a charitable organisation and therefore, has to depend on volunteers to continue helping brain injury survivors and their families.
