- Promoting the protection of young people and vulnerable adults from harm. - Sharing our knowledge and findings with statutory and voluntary groups in particular and the wider community in general.
About our Speaker
- Conor McCafferty MSc., Reg. MBACP (Accred)
Conor comes from a background of Youth Work, Further Education and Counselling & Psychotherapy.
He is an accredited psychotherapist with BACP and specialises in self-harm and suicidal behaviours as well as addiction.
Conor has been with Zest for over 20 years and currently coordinates the Self-harm Intervention Programme (SHIP) in the WHSCT and the NHSCT.
This is a direct referral pathway from the Community Mental Health Teams to counselling in the Voluntary Sector for those who are self-harming.
Conor specialises in the impact of alcohol on self-harm and suicide and delivers training workshops to professionals throughout the province and chairs the Suicide Strategy Implementation Body (SSIB).
