Education Minister, Michelle McIlveen today announced a further extension to two Covid-19 childcare support funds.
18 June 2021: Education Minister Michelle McIlveen, has announced additional funding to support childcare providers.
This includes a third phase of the Childcare Sustainability Fund for the period 1 April to 30 June 2021 and the Childcare Covid-19 Temporary Closure Fund from 1 April to 30 September 2021.
It will provide a financial contribution towards ongoing additional costs that childcare providers are incurring while coping with significantly reduced demand for their services during current restrictions.

The Covid-19 Sustainability Support Fund is open from 18 June 2021 for applications from eligible daycare and school-aged childcare settings, childminders, crèches and playgroups.
A grant payment will be made according to the type and size of the provider and eligible providers will be able to apply for funding via :-
The Covid-19 Childcare Temporary Closure Support Fund will provide continued support for childcare providers who have been forced to close temporarily due to a Covid-related incident within their provision.
The Covid-19 Temporary Closure Fund is open from 18 June 2021 for applications from eligible daycare and school-aged childcare settings, childminders, crèches and playgroups.
Childcare Providers are asked to keep Early Years Team informed as soon as possible of any Temporary Closures.
