The Time Out programme offers respite, safety and support to children aged 8-17 and their families. Working in partnership with social workers, the service responds to crisis and offers a sanctuary for young people who need time in a safe place where they can reflect and feel valued.
This programme meets the needs of young people and their families by providing an alternative to placement into short and / or planned 3 night / 4 day social, educational, cultural and recreational placement at Extern facility.
Time Out is a responsive and effective service with high threshold and tolerance levels which aims to avert crisis.
