Main Services Provided

Ballymena and Little Steps Sure Start is an Action for Children led Project and provides a range of services to both children from pre-birth to four years and their families. Services consist of both individual and group support and operate from three centres, two covering eight electoral wards in North and South of Ballymena and another in Antrim.

The project comprises a Multi-agency, Multi-disciplinary team and works in close partnership with a range of statutory, voluntary and community groups to provide a need led approach to the delivery of services in the area.


Aims include:
- providing a range of preventative, promotional and supportive services to enhance the life chances of young children (0-4) and their families
- Improving the social and emotional development of children by supporting bonding and attachment between parents and children and through the early identification and provision of support for families in need including those with additional needs and disability
- Supporting families in caring for their children and promoting healthy lifestyles and optimum development before and after birth
- Improving children’s ability to learn by encouraging stimulating and enjoyable play, improving Language skills and through early identification and support of children experiencing difficulties.

Staff have experience of working with children with special needs/disability.
