Main Services Provided

Residential Child Care services provide a safe homely environment to meet the individual needs of children and young people, through the use of social work values and working in partnership with parents, carers and other professionals to promote positive outcomes.

We work in partnership with parents/carers to provide a high quality of care and support to children who are being accommodated. We try to provide a positive experience of care that is sensitive to individual needs to keep children/young people informed about what is happening to them and will be consulted before decisions are taken which will affect their lives. We work with parents to involve them in the care of their children and participation when decisions are taken about their future. We aim to promote a childs/young persons growth, maturation, self-esteem and the development of age appropriate skills and behaviour. We provide services for children and their families in partnership.

We aim to work effectively in partnership with young people, their parents or carers, teaching staff and other agencies, towards the achievement of agreed goals. We offer support and advice. We attend Leaving and Aftercare (LAC) reviews and help put a young persons views across. We will help a young person complete individual work to increase their understanding of what has happened in their lives.

84 Chapel Road

84 Chapel Road is a small residential unit, which caters for four young people. It is a semi-independent living unit which provides young people with the opportunity to experience semi-independent living in a safe environment. Normally residents in 84 Chapel Road are sixteen years old on admission. Most young people come from a residential or foster placement and are preparing for living in the community where returning home is not an option. Young people being considered for a placement in this unit should be in a training/education programme and should also be willing to agree/negotiate a daily living contract.
