Main Services Provided

With a vision of society free from suicide, Contact is a registered Northern Ireland charity specialising in crisis counselling, suicide prevention and trauma recovery.

Based in Belfast the regional charity was established in 1977. The charity pioneered the Independent Schools Counselling for Northern Ireland (2006-2009) and provided the first decade of the regional Lifeline crisis counselling service (2008-2018).

Contact has access to many community sites across the country allowing us to reach out to as many local communities as possible.

ART (Aggression Related Trauma) project is for Children and young people aged 8 to 20 who have experienced physical, emotional or sexual abuse in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust Area.

Children and young people can access:

• Creative arts therapy


• Talk therapy

How it is delivered:

• The child or young person can access Creative Arts Therapy or Talking Therapy weekly for up to one year

• Support for families is also available

The project is delivered by Contact a regional charity specialising in crisis counselling and suicide prevention.

Our counsellors are experienced, professionally trained and follow the guidelines of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.


There is no cost, as funding has been provided by BIG Lottery.
