Main Services Provided

Our aim is to provide a range of opportunities and support to people with mental health needs. Support comes not only from trained staff but also from meeting and talking to others who have had or are experiencing mental health difficulties, in a relaxed unhurried atmosphere. Members can drop in or take part in any of the activities / groups available.

Staff and members work in partnership to ensure the service reflects the needs of members and encourages active involvement in all areas. Fortnightly partnership meetings are held to discuss and plan work of the centre. Individual support planning with a key worker means that a tailored programme of activity can be accessed by all members. This may include: educational classes; self-help / support groups; creative activities; complementary / alternative therapies; social opportunities.

Activities include :-

Walking Group
Personal Development
Allotment Group
Flower Arranging

Allotment project with tutor through Live & Learn funding. Group are now planting out seedlings and are hoping to keep a blog of how things are going.

Text alert service to members to let them know of meetings and any events coming up in the centre.

Certificate in community volunteering – Members who volunteer are offered opportunity to complete accredited training relevant to their area of volunteering.

If you are aged between 18 and 65 and have a mental health need, then your doctor, or staff from the local Community Mental Health Team can refer you to a centre. If you wish you could come in and talk to one of our staff, all of whom are trained in the field of mental health. If you'd like more information about being referred to a Beacon Day Support centre please contact us and we will endeavour to help where possible.
