Engage Men’s Health Facilitator Training: Call for expressions of interest

Dear Colleague

In March this year, the Western Trust’s Health Improvement, Equality and Involvement Department worked in partnership with Men’s Action Network and the Men’s Health Forum in Ireland to deliver the ‘Hope from Hopelessness’ conference which explored the complex issue of men and suicide.

Building on the energy generated at this event, the partner organisations are delighted to offer ENGAGE men’s health facilitator training which will take place over 5 full days between October and December 2018:

  • Tuesday 23rd October 2018
  • Wednesday 24th October 2018
  • Tuesday 13th November 2018
  • Wednesday 14th November 2018
  • Tuesday 11th December 2018

Please note, you must be available to attend the course on all dates.

‘ENGAGE’ was developed in the Republic of Ireland as part of the National Men’s Health Policy in response to the growing demand from service providers for support to improve their engagement and work with men. This training course will create a team of facilitators who understand why and how to engage more effectively with men of all ages, and who are willing to cascade their learning (via workshops) throughout the WHSCT area during 2019.

Applications are welcomed from both men and women, and from people working in the voluntary, community and statutory sectors. Places are limited and demand is likely to be high so please refer to the attached flyer for more information and if you would like to be considered, please contact me for an application pack by Friday 7th September 2018.

Kind Regards

Erin Evers
